Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) about Henna Tattoo
What is Henna?
Henna is a paste made from the leaves of a plant called Lawsonia. It grows in dry and warm climates. The leaves are harvested, dried and ground into a fine powder. It is then sifted multiple times before making it into a paste adding water, sugar, and essential oils. The paste is then used to create beautiful henna designs that stain the skin.

How long do I keep the paste on?
Henna should be left at least 30 minutes or more for a good stain. The longer the Henna paste is left on the skin, the stain gets more darker.

How long does it last?
You can expect your henna stain last 7-10 days, depending on where the stain is applied on the body, how long you left your paste on and how much washing /scrubbing that area receives.
What color is Henna?
Henna powder is green in color, some powders are brownish green. When the powder is mixed with a liquid (water, citrus juice, essential oil) to make a paste, it turns a dark shade of green. The paste turns dark brown as it dries. This dye oxidizes over 48 hours to turn from orange color to dark rust brown. Henna is a natural product and does not come in any other colors.
**** Henna paste or dye is NEVER black*****

How to remove the Henna stain?
Since Henna stains the top layer of the skin, you can wash with hand soap a couple of times and scrub with a wash cloth to speed the clearing process. It still may take a couple days to disappear completely!
